About Calibos

The band Calibos was founded on December 1, 1989 in Olomouc. The founding members include singer Miroslav Spilka (ex-Skramasax), guitarist Marek Andrejší (ex-Gladiator), drummer Miroslav Matusů (ex-Gladiator), bassist František Sobek and external guitarist Petr Bártek.

The core of the repertoire consisted mostly of powerspeed songs by Gladiátor (Přerov), Skramasax, covers by Czech and foreign metal bands and also brand new songs. The first public performance took place in February 1990 in front of a packed hall of the Workers' House in Olomouc's Černovír district. The first line-up was still obligatory and the band recorded its first demo tape. During the first months, the external guitarist Petr Bártek left and another ex-Gladiator Jiří Král appeared as bassist for a few weeks.
