Venue description

Villa Tugendhat is closed to the public until 1 June 2020 due to protection against the spread of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and Covid-19.

The Villa of Greta and Fritz Tugendhat's 1929-1930 villa, designed by architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, is a monument of modern architecture. The only monument of modern architecture in the Czech Republic is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

In 2010-2012 Villa Tugendhat underwent renovation and restaurant restoration. Both the building and the adjoining garden were restored to its appearance at the time of its completion in 1930. The interiors are equipped with exact replicas of the original furniture.

The gallery recommends buying tickets for at least 1 month in advance. Tours start at 10.00; 11.00; 12.00; 13.00; 14.00; 15.00; 16.00 and 17.00. For one inspection group, up to 15 people are capacities and safety reasons.
