Über Ondrej Zajac
Ondrej Zajac is a guitar player and improviser working in the fields of experimental, nu-jazz, avant-garde and ambient music. He also composes film music and curates his own microlabel.
Constantly experimenting with the possibilities of the electric guitar, he tries to breach boundaries between genres and to create a unique music teeming with life. In his solo work, Zajac focuses on seeking new textures and shapes of the sound. He creates all the sounds on the fly, while using hardware electronics and prepared guitar techniques.
After working with few filmmakers and playing secret gigs for his friends, he has debuted with his critically acclaimed record Monolith and in 2016 founded his own label météore, focused on issuing his own minor releases and merchandise. In live shows, he is interested in providing highly improvised, fierce and raw performances and this fact leads to his reputation of a musician being known for having no respect for music.
