The Cuban Latin Jazz is an international band led by double bassist Roland Abreu - a Cuban-born musician who ended up in Wrocław where he graduated from the Academy of Music. In addition to the leader, the core of the band consists of: Taras Bakovskyy (a saxophonist of Ukrainian origin, a student of Piotr Baron), pianist Paweł Kukuła (who studies in Kuba Stankiewicz's class at the Academy of Music in Wrocław) and percussion prodigy Dominik Jaske. The young musicians perform a danceable fusion of Cuban and jazz music, as well as sets combining jazz, fusion and Latin music. The band has won laurels at jazz festivals including Jazz Nad Odra, Jazz Juniors. Their second and latest album Roots was released in February 2020.
