Plondra is a young band founded by Fryderyk Szulgit with the aim of realizing a musical vision that refers to the notion of plunderphonics, which in its original version defines a current of music created from processing fragments of already existing recordings, taking the form of collage. However, Plondra's idea is less literal - it uses existing musical means of expression and sounds which go far beyond the boundaries of what is usually referred to as jazz music, and uses them to achieve an impression, atmosphere, stimulate emotions and create room for free improvisation. In practice, the band's music combines the approach and freedom of the free jazz scene of the 1960s, the rawness of grunge sound and expression, as well as elements of noise, ambient and drone music. Plondra is made up of musicians with diverse inspirations, who come from the same background, and who have been working together intensively for a long time in various formations. Thanks to this, the band is able to create a relationship-based chemistry between the musicians, essential in creating a collective artistic expression.
