About Slikback
Slikback is a Kenyan DJ and producer, and part of the Nyege Nyege collective. After joining the Boutiq Studio in Kampala in mid-2017, he began to find his sound, which fuses footwork, trap, grime, and a variety of contemporary underground African club styles into a uniquely accessible mix. His debut EP Lasakaneku was released under Hakuna Kulala Records, a sublabel of Nyege Nyege Tapes, in June 2018. Since then, he went on to perform at Nyege Nyege Festival in Uganda, with one of his performances being streamed on Boiler Room, and later made his European debut at Unsound; as well as becoming a prolific studio artist, having put out a whopping 20 releases between 2020 and 2022, including collaborations with the likes of Malibu, KMRU and Tzusing.
