Three 20th century music personalities will converge at this concert. Janáček's lyrical, gentle songs contrast with the broadly arched vocal compositions of Bohuslav Martinů. His work will be performed by Jaromír Meduna, a voice known from his dubbing of Hercule Poirot. The rousing composition Les Noces by Igor Stravinsky will be performed for the first time in Ostrava, accompanied by no fewer than four concert grands and a substantial choir.
