Allegaeon is an American extreme metal band from Fort Collins, Colorado, formed in 2008. Often referred to as technical melodic death metal, they also take influence from classical music, progressive metal and thrash metal; lyrically, they deal with scientific themes, exploring concepts like the theory of evolution and biology, physics, cryonics, Dyson spheres, the probability of alien life in the universe, stem cell research, and artificial intelligence. Signing to Metal Blade and releasing their debut in 2010, their big break was 2014's Elements of the Infinite, incorporating more melodic elements with "dazzling guitar work" and "epic orchestral flourishes" . Their resume now includes a total of six studio albums, the latest being 2022's Damnum, and tours with the likes of Whitechapel, Norma Jean and The Agonist.
