The work of the band Alt-J is a mix of electronic music, brit pop and rock. The British trio, consisting of Joe Newman (vocals, guitar), Gus Unger-Hamilton (backing vocals, keyboards), Thom Sonny Green (drums), emphasise that their music cannot be classified into one genre. The band owes its distinctive sound to the combination of vocals and choruses with synth sounds, offbeat rhythmic structures and non-obvious melodic lines. All this gives the listener an impression of depth and creates Alt-J's unique style. Alt-J debuted with the album An Awesome Wave, which was a huge success and won the prestigious Mercury Prize. Subsequent albums - This Is All Yours and Relaxer and the remix album Reduxer quickly conquered the charts. Ten years after the group's debut, their latest album, The Dream, saw the light of day.
