Venue description

Krakow's Barbican was built at the very end of the 15th century (1498-1499) and was the strongest element of the city's fortifications that had been developed over the centuries. Today it is in the care of the Museum of Krakow and is open to visitors, who can learn about the historical development of Krakow's fortifications inside. It can be visited as part of the museum's Defence Route tour, which also includes visits to Celestat and the surviving fragments of Krakow's defensive walls.

During winter, the Barbican is closed. Exact opening dates can be found on the Museum website.
