The Bardomaniacs unpack – They have twenty years on stage together behind them and survived two years of Corona break. Now they are back: bolder, funnier, more spontaneous and more musical than ever.
The three have torn their audience between Sweden and Switzerland row by row from the seats, between Schwedt and Schwetzingen let many the heart open. Critics argue whether the band actually plays urban folk music, hybrid folklore or fake blues. It doesn't matter – the Bardomaniacs don't fit into any genre or pigeonhole. With accordion, baritone sax and weird percussion, the musical arc spans from polka to musette waltzes, from Zwiefachen to tango, from Giuseppe Verdi to Miles Davis, from crooked Balkan beats to fat hiphop grooves. The whole thing is then presented with a lot of fun and a sense of nonsense.
