Because of Alma

Musical talent and a happy childhood in a prominent musical family, even marriage to a brilliant musician – all this seemed to predestine the outstanding violinist Alma Rosé for a rich and successful life, the main axis of which would always remain music. The only thing that remained: music. Everything else was swept away.

The story of the daughter of Viennese violinist Arnold Rosé and the niece of Gustav Mahler encompasses not only all the incomprehensible and terrifying twists and turns of European history in the first half of the 20th century, but also the question of the power of music in human life. The stage brings together the great musicians of the Alma Ensemble and three actors. The author of the dramatic text is the scriptwriter and dramaturge Martina Kinská, who has a lot of experience in dealing with similar themes and her theatre scripts have won several awards.
