Bohai - klezmer and world music from Berlin - are playing Jewish folk and dance music, enriched and mixed with other styles such as swing or tango. Consisting of Yorick Lohse (clarinet), Sönke Tippelmann (guitar), Alexander Patzelt (bass clarinet & vocals) and Johannes Schauer (contrabass), Bohai re-arranges the traditional Jewish songs for this unusual line-up and complements them with percussion elements. The result is a broad spectrum that ranges from melancholic ballads to fast-paced dance numbers and brings out a very special sound from the special combination of instruments.
