The Citadel Music Festival hosts a series of rock, pop and electronic concerts every summer from May to September at the historic Citadel in Berlin-Spandau.
The Spandau Citadel, located in the Spandau district on the western outskirts of Berlin, is an old Renaissance-era fortress and one of the best-preserved fortresses in Europe. The open-air concert stage is surrounded by massive old walls and buildings, creating a very special atmosphere that attracts top international artists and music fans from all over the world. The Citadel Music Festival is not limited to any single genre, but provides a stage for international artists and newcomers of every genre. Highlights of this year’s program include German punk band Die Ärzte, singer-songwriter Patti Smith, pop legend Sting, jazz musician Gregory Porter and Australian singer Tash Sultana.
