Laboratorium Pieśni

Laboratorium Pieśni band returns to Krakow. After last year's sold-out concert, the singers group returns to the capital of Lesser Poland.

It will be a magical evening, full of songs, together with the band's original compositions. Song Laboratory is a Tri-City, women's singers' band, founded in 2013. The group sings and arranges traditional polyphonic songs: Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Belarusian, Serbian, Albanian, Bosnian, Polish, as well as Georgian, Scandinavian, Oxytanian and many others. The World Songs are performed both a capella and to the accompaniment of shamanic drums and other ethnic instruments (including shruti box, bells, obstructions, flute, kalimba, bowls, gong), bringing traditional arrangement to the songs, a space of vocal improvisation, inspired by sounds of nature, often intuitive, wild, feminine. Song material goes a specific way from the source: songs are usually imported from different regions of Poland, Europe and the World by members of the band, then they are developed in the workshop process and rehearsals, and finally appear in a new setting - traditional or enriched, arranged. The group also creates performances in which traditional songs tell about departing rites, including Seasons of the Year (2012), Empty Nights - Songs that are already ending (2014). The band with concerts and workshops have already visited over 15 countries (including the USA, India, England, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Iceland, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, France and the Czech Republic).
