Cyprus has not always had the best reputation among Czech officials and businesspeople. For many years, it was regarded as a tax haven. All of this changed, though, with its joining the European Union in 2004, when a number of policies were passed, giving it the status of a transparent member state that still strives to attract in foreign businessmen. At this moment, Cyprus is recognized as a jurisdiction with tax incentives and attractive taxation regimes, particularly for the IT, finance, and intellectual property sectors. Cyprus is still known for its pleasant weather throughout the year, stunning landscape, hospitable English-speaking locals, special location between Europe and Asia, and easy of accessibility from most large European cities. This course is intended as an introductory seminar for people who are looking for a safe country in the European Union with a strategic geographical location for their worldwide business.
