The stage reading of Promethidion - which is part of the celebrations organized on September 24-25 to mark the 200th anniversary of Norwid's birth - will be the second meeting as part of the new IT series, "Od-reading Norwid. Dramas." In Promethidion the word functions to this day as a subtle Norwidian credo. It is, in a way, a kind of aesthetic faith, an aesthetic faith and religion earnestly "seeking understanding among its contemporaries." All the more cruelly, it must be admitted, has the world dealt with Norwid's poem, especially the Polish world.

A solemn presentation of Norwid's Thing in Two Dialogues with an Epilogue - the Promethidion - performed by Teresa Budzisz-Krzyżanowska, with live music by Janusz Olejniczak. It is worth returning to this text, which not only became a rejected monument of an entire epoch - it was also a moving document of a drastic limitation of reception and bad will - this is how it should be read and performed - Karol Samsel. The evening will begin with a panel discussion with the participation of Ewa Hoffmann-Piotrowska, Olaf Krysowski and Jarosław Gajewski, moderated by Karol Samsel. The stage reading of the drama will begin at 7 pm.

The event will be open to the public and organized in accordance with IT's sanitary discipline. In view of the need to ensure the safety of all the guests of the Institute and the limited number of seats in the audience, the organizers kindly request you to download the invitations thoughtfully and to arrive a few minutes before the scheduled start of the performance to fill the COVID-19 contact form.
