Patience is truly not her strength, so Daphne de Luxe brings to the stage a program that can hardly be more authentic. From mother-in-law and other plagues, it’s easy to guess who’s the linchpin of this comedy program: the mother-in-law. She moved into the house recently and literally brings so many a lovely situation with her and the Barbie in XL format on the proverbial palm.
But since the mother-in-law is not the only one who plagues Daphne de Luxe in her existence, she muses on the sense and nonsense of comic habits, as well as the oddities of getting older, philosophizing about the human being in general, and venturing out about situations that seriously her patience put to the test. Because these lurk just everywhere: at the doctor’s visit, in the supermarket, at the authorities or in the virtual world.
When Daphne de Luxe carries out the challenges of her everyday life, it is hardly surprising that the biblical plagues are almost like a trifle by comparison. The comedian again convinces with her very special mixture of stylish performance, amusing entertainment, winking self-irony, cabaret-like depth, unconditional authenticity and touching vocals.
