Escribir Todos Sus Nombres

The PalaisPopulaire is currently hosting the exhibition To Write Down All Their Names – Spanish female artists from 1960 until today. All of the pieces in this exhibition are from the collection of Helga de Alvear, one of Spain's most prominent gallery owners and art collectors. Spain's political, social, and cultural realities have shifted dramatically since the 1960s. This reality has also affected female artists, as seen by their works and their representation in shows.

Most of the selected works appear to be works of writing: musical writing, performative writing, or scores created as an exercise in narration, abstraction, or interpretation of the writings of others. This theme runs through the works of fourteen women artists from three generations who bring us new ways of seeing and living.
