Aleksandra Młynarczyk-Gemza is a multimedia artist, photographer and performer. Notes of a Madwoman, her solo exhibition at the MOCAK Library, complements her acclaimed literary debut of the same title last year. The book reveals experiences relating to various aspects of the author's life: being a woman, an artist, a person with a diagnosed mental illness. This very private and moving story is a manifesto of faith in art, which allows us to touch the boundaries of identity and get closer to the Other, including the one in ourselves. The works on view in the MOCAK Library are illustrations to selected chapters of the novel.
The reading will be performed in Polish.
