On February 04, 2023, the opening of the exhibition of the two artists Frantz Lamothe and Martin Dreves-Castillo, held in the framework of Black History Month, will take place at the SLP Gallery from 5 pm.
In celebration of this year's Black History Month, SLP Gallery is making a statement by exploring the colorfulness and vibrant diversity of the world's largest diaspora community. From Feb. 4 through Feb. 26, 2023, the gallery will feature two artists who grew up and found roots in the global black community.
The artworks are honest and joyful, ranging from collage to abstract painting, creating a touching dialogue about identity, home and the uniqueness of black culture. Complementing the exhibition of works, a voguing performance embraces the artworks. Visitors:inside can look forward to a sensory experience that will be bright, bold, and above all, joyful.
The exhibition conveys not only the extraordinary heritage of the black community, but also an honest and powerful message of hope for humanity as a whole. Black history is viewed from a contemporary perspective, social codes and structures of human reality are questioned, past and present representations of being black culminate in celebratory color. In this way, the exhibition celebrating Black History Month captures the legacy of the international black community and underscores the importance of diversity, togetherness and hope. Works by artists Frantz Lamothe and Martin Dreves-Castillo will be on display.
