"FAMUFEST" is a film festival showcasing young artists from FAMU which serves as a platform for meetings with Czech and foreign filmmakers.
This annual event allows students to present their work from the past year to a public audience. The festival was regularly held every autumn. The very first FAMUFEST was held in 1983.
The theme of the 38th FAMUFEST is s3tk8ní. The graphic pun in the title refers to the computer keyboard and the virtual way of life that people have been living. Organizers of the festival had to begin their studies with long-distance learning, and they are “craving physical contact”. They want to meet other students, get to know their work, and offer this opportunity to the public.
The 38th FAMUFEST will begin on Wednesday, March 30th and will end on Sunday, April 3rd. This year will be in Vršovice – the very heart of the festival will be the Pilot Cinema, but visitors can also look forward to an exhibition and a rich off-screen program at a number of interesting places in the area.
