The Archeology of Photography Foundation was established in August 2008 in response to the real need to protect and bring to light the archives of leading Polish photographers. Its purpose is to publicize their legacies, initiate artistic and research projects on the basis of archives being developed. The Foundation implements its mission, among others through digitalization and online access to the database, archiving, securing negatives, positives and documents from Polish photographers, developing standards for archiving photographs, organizing exhibitions, publications, and workshops.
