Galeria Garbary 48 was established in December 1990. Since its inception, it has focused its interest on the presentation of contemporary Polish art, graphics, painting and sculpture. During its 27 years of activity, it has organised over 200 exhibitions, shows, concerts and ephemeral events. In 1992, it co-founded the nationwide Young Art Week together with the Wieś Artystyczna Foundation. In 1995, the Garbary 48 Painting and Sculpture Gallery and the Garbary 48 Graphic Gallery were separated, and in 1996 she co-initiated the establishment of the Replacement Workshop. In 1997, at the Garbary 48 Graphic Gallery, the Poznań Association for the Promotion of Art was established, bringing together collectors and enthusiasts wishing to promote the work of young Poznań graphic artists, conducting separate publishing and exhibition activities. It also presents the works of its associated artists in other centres (Warsaw, Krakow, Wrocław, Szczecin). It collaborates with many galleries in Poland and abroad.
