According to a survey by Amnesty International, protest was the issue that moved millions of people in 156 countries around the world in 2022, along with flight. The question WHAT TO DO? is on everyone's mind in view of the crises and wars of our time. Which futures can we rediscover and what makes us act?

The 6th Berlin Herbstsalon deals with these questions and will take place in two parts in 2023: In GEZİ - TEN YEARS AFTER. A Prologue in Spring, the tenth anniversary of the protests will be taken as an occasion to look at current political upheavals and hoped-for departures. After the presidential and parliamentary elections in Turkey, one wonders In what condition are the people, is the Turkish Republic, especially after the earthquake disaster? Gezi was and is a symbol of building a livable country together. Together with contemporary witnesses who actively participated in the events and who now live in exile, especially in Berlin, GEZİ - TEN YEARS AFTER tries to trace this legacy for the future.

The entire program of GEZİ - TEN YEARS AFTER includes cinema, an exhibition, a forum, performances, talks, workshops and much more. More information about each event can be found here.
