GRIPS is one of the best-known contemporary and political theater for children and young people in Germany. The venue at Podewil has been operated by GRIPS Theater since 2009 with the support of Kulturprojekte Berlin GmbH. The theater program reacts permanently to the constantly changing social and political conditions. Not least through the musical productions by former art director Volker Ludwig, such as the well-known Linie 1, Café Mitte or the adaptation of Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, the theater has made a name for itself nationally and internationally. GRIPS' plays have been performed over 1500 times in about 40 languages all over the world.
