Twenty years of collaboration of “Black angel of poetry” Vladimir Holan and “National clown” Jan Wericha in Villa on Campa

Villa on Campa – U Sovových mlýnů 501/7, is an apparent island of freedom in art. Villa Dobreckého in past, today Werichova villa. Jan Werich “national clown and national rabbi” lived here from the year of 1945 until his dead in 1980. Vladimir Holan “Black angel of poetry” moved here to the 1st floor in 1948. It’s twenty years of living together of Homlet and Falstaff. A lot of talking with alive people and silence with a ghosts. Rumbustious parties and intime praying. The distance from one pole of Czech culture to opposite was just three meters.

New play of Pavel Jurda tries to look at legends of Czech culture in their conflicts and solitudes.
