"…My works (…) are a mirror of the time we live in. In them I try only to assemble relations, create mosaics-stories and epic stories, without drawing any conclusions or comments, and leave their interpretation to the viewer himself…" writes Jan Bortkiewicz in the text The Truth of Gorgias accompanying the exhibition. The exhibition at the CCA will feature the photographer's works, described by Andrzej Nowak in the description of the exhibit as "needles piercing the balloon of successive ideologies and political correctness – the old, coarse Sickle and Hammer and the newer, so beautifully packaged, blue pill of happiness." They are meant to expose the absurdity and horror of a spiritual vacuum.
