Jarosław Potoczny's exhibition Save As creates a not-so-optimistic picture of entanglement in a camouflaged system of constraints shaping life through educational, legal-political, economic and cultural mechanisms. There is no alternative here, there is only the path marked out by the gallery's engulfing labyrinth, along which – in the name of our safety (as well as our well-being and freedom) – the electric shepherd kindly guides us. The labyrinth becomes a sarcastic metaphor for social life seen as a field integrated by a 'zoo-political' apparatus of pressure. The exhibition will present premiere installations and paintings.

Jarosław Potoczny (b. 1962) is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław (diploma in the atelier of Prof. Konrad Jarodzki). He works mainly in painting, object and installation. He uses his own unique formal language, drawing materials from the surrounding "technical civilisation" – he uses electrical elements, cables, plastics, neon signs, fragments of car installations. The artist is interested in contemporary technology, pop culture and sociopolitical mechanisms. Jarosław Potoczny lives and works in Wrocław.
