Jiří Vondrák, by his own name Jiří Vondráček, began his musical career in the late 1960s under the influence of classical songwriters such as Bob Dylan, Bulat Okudzhava, Vladimir Vysotsky and Donovan. He became a professional musician ten years later. Since the 1990s, he has also been a filmmaker, working as a writer and director on more than a hundred mainly art documentaries. He has also written many books and contributed to the publication of many others.
