Animals are the closest living beings to humans. We love them, we enjoy their presence, but at the same time we try to dominate them without finding out what they feel and what they are really like. But what if we fully discovered their wild and surprising nature? To awaken empathy for animals? To feel respect for their autonomy, natural beauty and instinctive wisdom? The performance KoczkodanSe is intended for young viewers aged 7 to 11. On the one hand, the piece is part of the Chuman-animal idiom carried out by the Polish Dance Theatre this year, and on the other is part of a new mission: to infect children with dance. Children have been hearing and seeing in fairy tales for ages that animal heroes feel and suffer, that they can worry and be happy, that they know how to love and hate; that their feelings are no different from those of humans. It is a pity, however, that this can only be seen in fairy tales. KoczodanSe tells a simple story, and yet – in addition to touching and entertaining – it can sow the curiosity, love and magic that the fairy tale characters have found within themselves.
