Krakow Street Band is a band that has quickly become a showcase of the city and the Polish music scene. The group has been gaining more and more popularity for four years. In March 2018, Krakow Street Band – as the winner of Polish qualifications, represented our country at the European Blues Challenge 2018 in Norway. The music of Kraków Street Band captivates with its freedom and positive energy. When in 2014 they collected for their debut album through a crowdfunding campaign, they won 170% of the planned budget in a month. They got to the finals of the Must Be The Music program, gaining excellent opinions from the jury at every turn. In 2015, they released their second, unique album – an album dedicated to the memory of Jerzy Wójcik, the first Polish artist performing bluegrass music. Compositions from his band’s repertoire, Little Ole Opry, were recorded together with Krystyna Święcicka-Wójcik and invited guests from the Krakow music world. Going Away is the third album in the Krakow Street Band achievements, based entirely on the author’s material. It consists of 11 lively, unpretentious songs, neatly balancing between modern folk, jazz and blues. The beautifully sounding studio rooms of Radio Kraków have allowed us to capture the nuances in the music of a 9-person composition, which since the beginnings of the street has become blush and content.
