This city is not made of medieval walls, but fleeting moments – walking the streets of Krakow, sitting in cafés, at the university, in the Planty. Buying books in the bookshop of the Market Square right next to Czesław Miłosz. Jerzy Pilch drinking vodka at Vis a Vis. Tadeusz Kantor at a table in Krzysztofory. Andrzej Wajda sneaking through the Market Square. Marcin Świetlicki surrounded by a garland of young girls in Piękny Pies. Maleńczuk singing with his guitar on Floriańska Street. Dzidzianna Solska fortune-telling at the Sukiennice. Piotr Skrzynecki, Konieczny, Preisner and others in Vis a Vis, having coffee and cognac at 1 PM. Leszek the White, "the last king of Poland", scaring tourists with a big plastic pipe. A cream pie in the Czarodziej bar on Karmelicka Street, and pensioners in yarn caps they never take off. The morning bugle call in the St. Mary's Tower as you pass the respectable bourgeoisie heading for Sunday mass, finishing your journey to the end of the Krakow night in the Free Pub bar on Sławkowska, the last place open until dawn. That's how it was. Until quite recently.

The Cracow Lightness of Being is a musical journey to an underground Krakow that is almost gone; it is also a unique state of mind, a different sense of time, the famed Krakow spleen, full of smog, alcohol, café discussions, an ocean of wasted time that makes the City of Kings unique.
