The Snow Queen is a remarkably picturesque tale of the friendship of two children, Kaj and Gerda. One day shards of a devil's mirror fell into Kaj's eye and heart, making him naughty, angry, and insensitive to the beauty of the world. When the Snow Queen passed through town, he tied his sleigh to hers, and the Snow Queen took him to her ice palace in the far north. Gerda was very distraught at the loss of her friend and decided to go in search of him. However, she did not know where the Snow Queen could have taken him. So she sets out on a long journey to find Kai.
