Growing up with the sounds of the 90s, Kwam.E serves today's Hip-Hop scene with his self-created rap style mixed with futuristic and oldschool sounds. If you listen to last year's debut EP What Da Phunk, you will feel straight to New York, more specifically to the Bronx, Nas' Brooklyn and especially Wu-Tang's Staten Island. The samples, the beats, the cuts, the scratches: Although Kwam.E was born in 1995, the style of that time is exactly his thing. His flow goes further than most of the others: Toasting, bright clear vocals and deep, rough croaking alternate quite easily. But not only classic hip-hop is there to hear, the reggae and ragga roots are just as there as the old heroes of the Hamburg School of '99. No wonder Samy Deluxe was one of the fans of the first hour. Kwam.E did not know for a long time whether he should actually get in fully. But the international success as a feature guest on Ace Tees hit But you down Kwam.E then unsolicited has won a solid fan base. With the release of Whut Da Phunk he manifested his name in the German Hip Hop scene.
