Maciej Lipina is a vocalist, guitarist, composer, theatre actor and music teacher. He's a founder of the band called Ścigani. He's known for portraying Rysiek Riedel in the Skazany na bluesa play.
Ścigani is a Polish music band formed in late 2001 in Ruda Śląska. The founders are: Ryszard Rajca, Maciej Lipina and Jarosław Dobrzański, who met at the Jawor Rock workshop in Jaworzno the same year. Their discography consists of three studio albums: Nigdy więcej bluesa, Bez hamulców and Spiritus Movens. The single Chce się żyć from the album Bez hamulców was classified on the 3rd place on the Warsaw Radio Hit List for You; the single Ełyła from the album Spiritus movens reached the 1st place on the TURBO-TOP list in Anty Radio where it was hosted for many months.
The band is a laureate of, among others, 3rd prize at the Rysiek Riedl Festival in 2003 and 2nd place at the same festival in 2004, winner of the Grand Prix Sopot Blues Festival (2004), winner of the Blues Top plebiscite Odkrycie roku 2005, Płyta roku 2007 and Wokalista roku 2008 even though it is not a blues band; a two-time winner of the Hit Generator award in 2009 (twice in the "Super Hit" category for the songs Uwierz mi chociaż raz and Niby razem). The band has supported many world stars, such as Chris Farlowe and Norman Beaker Band, Holmes Brothers, John Rawls Soul Blues Revue, Walter Trout and The Radicals, Joe Bonamassa, Magic Slim.
