About Maciej Tworek

Maciej Tworek is a Polish conductor. In 1988-91 he studied piano with Professor Jan Hoffman at the Academy of Music in Kraków, in 1992 he graduated from the Faculty of Music Education and in 1996 he graduated from the Faculty of Composition, Conducting and Theory of Music at the Academy of Music in Kraków in the class of Professor Józef Radwan. He took part in conducting master classes conducted by Helmuth Rilling, Roger Norrington and Kurt Masur. As a conductor he works with Krzysztof Penderecki. In 1998 he received a distinction in the Second National Competition for Young Conductors named after Witold Lutosławski in Białystok, and in 2002 he took part in the International Conductors' Competition The Maazel/Vilar Conductors' Competition (semi-final round). He has cooperated with many ensembles, among others: He has worked with the Cracow Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra, Capellae Cracoviensis, Choir and Orchestra of the Lodz Philharmonic, Bialystok Philharmonic Orchestra, Wroclaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Astana Philharmonic Orchestra, Zabrze Philharmonic Orchestra, Beethoven Academy Orchestra, Polish Radio Choir, NDR Chor, The Pro Arte Chamber Choir, the Cracow Chamber Choir, the Cracow Chamber Orchestra, the Choir and Symphony Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Cracow, the Chamber Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Cracow, the Chamber Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Tarnów, the Chamber Orchestra of Tarnów In 2003 he prepared the Choir and Orchestra of the Łódź Philharmonic for the local premiere of Krzysztof Penderecki's Credo under the composer. In the same year he participated in the Festival Junger Künstler in Bayreuth with the Chamber Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Cracow. Currently, he is an adjunct professor at the Faculty of the First Music Academy in Cracow.
