About Mahalia
It is hard to put into simple words what Mahalias music is about. This woman is a singer, a songwriter and a stoyteller, but even these descriptions do not even do her justice. The young Brit manages to produce subtile yet thrilling music. She is neither trying to write a mega hit nor does she forcefully try to address a particular audience but instead she wants to be authentic. She wants her music to be like a diary of her adolescence and it is very important to her that people see her as an honest person and that they can relate to her music. Her biggest fear is that people might think she is not real.
When Mahalia grew up her mum would drive her to and from school to the sounds of Etta James, Floetry, Aaliyah and Tweed. At the age of twelve she got a guitar and instantly learned to play it and started to write her own songs. It is been a long way for her but in 2014 she supported Ed Sheeran and Sandé on their UK tours. These expieriences and hard work paid off and they make her shows a truly exciting and intense event. After her debut Diary Of Me of 2016, Mahalia released her second album Love And Compromise in 2019.
