Maniucha and Ksawery are a duo that in a proprietary way combines jazz improvisation with the disappearing songs of the Ukrainian Polesie. In their compositions, they recall spring, harvest, wedding, love, and grandfather songs, carols and lullabies, combining them into stories reflecting the cycles of nature and human life. Together, they tell stories by crossing the boundaries of time and music genres, drawing Maniucha's many years of travels to singers from Ukrainian villages and a common musical imagination. Often, they also reach archival recordings from Polish villages of this area.
