About Melbeatz
Melbeatz is a German hip hop producer. Since she is one of the few female producers in the genre of hip-hop within German-speaking countries, she is often referred to as "Queen of Beats" within the scenes.
In 1996 she joined the band M.O.R., founded by Kool Savas, Justus and Fumanschu., whose 2001 released album N.L.P. she produced and reached no. 65th in the German album charts. In autumn 2001, however, she left the band again together with Savas. In May 2002, Kool Savas founded the record label Optik Records, in which Melbeatz was the first artist to be contracted.
Melbeatz released her long-planned debut album Rapper's Delight in 2004, which includes guest appearances by rappers such as Kanye West, Mobb Deep, Azad, Curse, Olli Banjo, Ol 'Dirty Bastard, and Illmatic and reached no. 32 on the album charts. Coming from this album is the single OK, recorded by Melbeatz with Kool Savas and Samy Deluxe.
The beats of many songs produced by Melbeatz are very much inspired by the synthesizer sound of the 1980s. At first she had no role models among producers. Only Timbaland was a clue for her in this regard.
