The 16th edition of the International Storytelling Festival, organized under the motto Mito/Logie, is centered around the notion of myth and its contemporary readings and stage realizations. Why do we need mythologies, what role can these old, sacred stories play today - their structures, images, meanings - functioning outside their mother context, in fragments, in movement, in shifts, in polyphony. Are they still alive for us beyond their archaic beauty, do they touch us personally? We will also ask questions about the origin of the need for new mythologies that organize social, cultural, and spiritual reality. Just as contemporary writers rewrite old myths, storytellers seek in mythological tales new sensitivity, new perspectives, or rather multiple perspectives and answers to the challenges we face today. The festival also includes free accompanying events - meetings in MIK café and "Elektra" reading room: workshops, talks, films, paintings, dedicated to the art of storytelling and mythology in a broad sense.
