Modular Organ System

The ten-day exhibition, which will take place as part of the CTM Festival 2022, focuses on extensive sound installations combined with sculpture, performance and active listening in space. In the concrete hall of Silent Green, the project will function as an interdisciplinary laboratory for music and sound, technology, art and experience. Not only installations will be presented, but musicians with different practices will perform and interact with the whole space and artworks. Berlin-based musician Philip Sollmann and music producer Konrad Sprenger, also from Berlin, are the head organizers for the sound installation, which can be described as a creative reinterpretation of a traditional pipe organ, church organs and design elements.

Bordering between installation, environment, performance and concert, Modular Organ System is a multi-part instrument consisting of numerous sound-generating objects that can be controlled by computer. Using established and novel construction methods, as well as traditional and unconventional materials such as ceramics, wood, and plastic, the system was created in collaboration between visual artists, organ builders, technologists, and craftsmen

Artists: Phillip Sollmann, Konrad Sprenger, Arnold Dreyblatt, Ellen Arkbro, Kali Malone and Stephen O'Malley, Will Guthrie, the brass ensemble Brass Abacus consisting of Robin Hayward, M.O. Abbott and Henrik Nørstebø.
