About Mr. Hurley & die Pulveraffen
Mr. Hurley & die Pulveraffen is a German folk band from Osnabrück, which consists of four members. The musicians describe themselves as a pirate band inspired by early modern times and they play mainly at medieval festivals, harbour festivals and other music festivals. From 2013 to 2016, for example, the band performed at Wacken Open Air on the Wackinger Stage, in 2014 also at the Festival Mediaval and in 2016 at the Summer Breeze Open Air, where they attracted 1000 spectators at the Camel Stage.
In November 2014, their EP Plankrock was released for which some songs of the older albums were rerecorded with electric guitars and drums. The band was supported by three guest musicians. In the spring of 2016, the band embarked on their first tour, entitled AggroShanty, to perform in seven cities.
In July 2017, the band hosted a live streaming concert together with Schandmaul and Versengold, each band covering one song of the other two. In August 2017, the album Tortuga was released which reached number five on the German album charts.
