The visual art exhibition presents to the public a selection of collections of art works from the Brno City Museum deposits from 1570 until 1945.

The first part of the exposition presents works of visual art created in Brno in the period from late renaissance until the end of 19th century. These collections as a whole were closed to the public for nearly 50 years. Visitors can find here votive renaissance paintings, a group of sculptures of the baroque sculptor Ondřej Schweigl and a collection of the 19th century portraits. The second part of the exposition is delimited by the period between 1900 and 1945 and presents paintings, sculptural and furniture works of Czech artists whose lives and works were somehow associated with the City of Brno. The presented works of art provide you with a comprehensive overview of the works of a notable artist A. Procházka. Brno is irresistibly connected with the output of J. Král and the Group of Visual Artists in Brno (J. Šíma, F. Süsser, J. Zamazal, F. Duša, and E. Milén). The exposition also includes works of visual artists F. Foltýn, F. Kaláb and E. Filla, sculptors J. Kubíček and V. Makovský, and furniture pieces of J. Vaněk, A. Loos and E. Králík.
