The Polana Institute, founded by curators Marika Zamojska and Justyna Wesołowska in 2016, combines the functions of an art institution, gallery and educational and research faculty. Polana focuses on international networking and a wide range of activities in the field of art. Two main themes of their work are programming the future of visual arts, and nature as a metaphor for political awareness and artistic resistance. Polana curates exhibitions and off-site projects and co-organizes the Hotel Warszawa Art Fair, a cyclical event that turns hotel rooms in the Hotel Warszawa over to the city's art galleries.
