The exhibition of portraits by Zuza Krajewska, Michał Łuczak and the duo of Katarzyna Korzeniecka and Szymon Rogiński will be on display at Warsaw’s Unit Gallery. The photographs and installations by these outstanding photographers were created over several months as part of the project Portret osobisty, czyli bliskie spotkanie z… vol. 4. This is the fourth edition of the project, in which artists present different strategies of approaching the art of portrait. The project is united by actions at the intersection of the art of photography and theater, referring to the idea of the monodrama, as an intimate meeting between the artist and the audience, and at the same time a classical form of creating a photographic portrait, resulting from a meeting between the photographer and the photographed person. Each time it is a close-up with the aim of arresting the image of the other person, removing the mask, capturing the moment, stopping time. The question still remains: to what extent is this a portrait of the photographed person, and to what extent a portraitist. The project took place as part of the well-known series We Are All Photographers. The results are unique and inimitable portraits.
