Raphael Rogiński is a guitarist, composer, improviser and cultural animator. Trained as a jazz and classical musician, he is associated with the free improvisation: he has worked with some of the most important names of the avant-garde, including Keith Rowe and John Tilbury of AMM or Marc Ribot; he has also worked with the key figures of Polish free improv (Trzaska, Moretti, Zimpel) and the most important artists of contemporary klezmer. This last part is crucial in Rogiński's career, as the vast majority of his work is in the field of Jewish music (including his most recognized output with the bands Shofar and Cukunft); he is also a dedicated researcher of other musical traditions, ranging from the Polish Kurpie music to Americana.
