About Romana Schmalisch
Romana Schmalisch studied Fine Arts at the Berlin University of the Arts. She participated in several scholarship programs as a researcher. Next to others at the Jan Van Eyck Academy in Maastricht, the Whitechapel Gallery / Studio Voltaire in London and Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers, Paris. Exhibitions and screenings of Schmalisch’s work have been published in Archive Kabinett, Berlin (2015), Kunstsaele, Berlin (2013), Museum of Fine Arts Housten (2013), Berlin, (2013), Foundation Center for Contemporary Art (CSM) , Kiev (2012), Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2012), Cinema Arsenal / Friends of the German Cinematheque, Berlin (2012), National Center for Contemporary Arts, NCCA, Moscow (2011), Etablissement d’en face, Brussels (2010 ), NGBK and Kunstraum Kreuzberg / Bethanien, Berlin (2010), Center d’Art Passerelle, Brest (2010), Proekt_Fabrika, Moscow (2010), Museum Folkwang, Essen (2008) and the Wilhelm Lehmbruck Museum, Duisburg (2007).
