The Museum of Prehistory and Early History dedicates a large special exhibition to Heinrich Schliemann (1822-1890), on the occasion of his 200th birthday.

The exhibition focuses on the great merchant in St. Petersburg, world traveler, writer and discoverer of Troy.

Schliemann visited the ancient sites in Greece and Turkey and found the earliest advanced civilization in Europe. With finds from the royal tombs in Mycenae and the Trojan Collection, the exhibition in the James Simon Gallery and the New Museum presents the results of his archaeological excavations.
