About Sophie and the Giants
Sophie and the Giants were formed in spring 2017 at a music college in Guildford, Surrey. After graduation, all four – Sophie Scott (vocals and guitar), Chris Hill (drums), Antonia Pooles (bass) and Toby Holmes (guitar) – moved together in an abandoned House to Sheffield. Short time later, they brought their strong, life-affirming songs to the stage and went on tour with acts like Tom Grennan, Yonaka and Reverend And The Makers.
The heart of the band is the incredibly captivating front woman, whose teenage years are now bluntly documented with unflinching honesty on Sophie and the Giants' debut EP Adolescence. "I learned the most from my mistakes," she says today. Sophie makes the right note for everyone with her righteous lyrics, and this tale is about growing up and finding herself with forward thinking, progressive, emotionally charged pop with influences from Siouxsie and the Banshees and Debbie Harry to Radiohead and Jamie T. This indie Rock is full of euphoria, power and optimism, full of melodies thanks to Sophie's versatile voice.
